Kifaru, Jan 21: One day seminar was held for the 7 catechists and 14 Jumuia (ward) leaders on Saturday, 19th January, 2019.
The Program began at 9.30 a.m. with adoration, followed by Holy Eucharist. There was a creative inauguration where all the participants put oil to the lamp, and the Parish priest lighted the lamp. Then Rev. Fr. Alwyn D’ Souza, the Mission superior, gave the inaugural message. In his message Fr. Alwyn explained the contribution of each leader to see that the light of Christ is shining in the Parish. Like the oil put to light the lamp, each leader’s contribution keeps the light of parish shining.
Rev. Fr. Victor Machado gave a talk on the Pastoral Leadership; Sr. Consolatha gave class on the Gospel of Luke. This year catechism will be focused on the Gospel of Luke. So, Sr. Consolatha, helped the catechists to prepare the lesson plan for the catechism.
Fr. Hilary Lobo the Parish Priest, moderated the session on the sharing and evaluation of the Jumuia (Ward) activities.
Mr. Maro the Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council moderated the session on the various data to be collected; regarding the list of children studying up to Form IV, families not having Bible, marriages need to be rectified, the list of children who are going to receive first communion and confirmation this year.
The programme concluded at 5.00 p.m.
