On 21st of March 2019 during his maiden visit to Same Mission in Tanzania, Mangalore Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha visited Kileo outstation of Kifaru Parish , Mwanga, Tanzania.
Parishioners of Kileo church welcomed the bishop outside of the church and with singing the hymns they entered the church. Parish secretary Mrs Protasia Tarimu gave the welcoming speech. Fr. Alwyn welcomed bishop and Fr. Victor welcomed Fr. Vincent with garland. Fr. Vincent Monteiro, Parish priest Fr. Hilary Lobo and all other priests of mission accompanied the bishop.
In the beginning Fr. Hilary started the prayer service and then bishop blessed the parishioners with Holy water and exchanged the peace with all by shaking their hands and laying hand over their heads. Then the outstation leaders came to the Altar and renewed the oath along with lighted candles. Then Mrs. Protasia Tarimu read the annual report of the station and Mr. Thilia presented the history of the church. Then bishop addressed the parishioners and in his address bishop spoke about God’s mercy and love. He encouraged people to put it in practice in daily lives. Then bishop distributed blessed rosaries to the parishioners.
Fr. Victor thanked bishop and other priests on behalf of the parishioners. At the end bishop gave his blessings. After the program there was sweet distribution and group photo session.
