1st July 2016. St. Joseph Boys’ Science Secondary School Kituri, MwangaDt, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.

The Appraising & Concluding   program of Summer Tuition Classes 2016 was held on 1st July at St. Joseph school premises. Rev. Fr. Alwyn M.J. DSouza, Manager of the school addressing to the student asked to study well, use opportunities and appreciate self and others. Rev. Sr. Grecilda Second Headmistress of the school appreciated the students for sacrificing the holidays and joining this 3 week program, she also appreciated the teachers and parents of the students for the initiative. Rev. Fr. Jason Lobo, Asst. Parish priest prayed over the students and wished them all the very best for their future.

This year 125 students from nearby villages participated in the summer tuition classes.  Students were divided  according to their forms (From 1 to Form 4) and were given tuitions in 10 subjects namely English, Mathematics, Physics, biology, Chemistry, Computer, Kiswahili, History, Geography&Civics.At the end of the program exams were conducted to assess their capabilities and the resultswere given with token of appreciation. The 3 week long program an initiative of SMA mission was fruitful. Teachers of St. Joseph schoolhave given their time and energy to fulfil the dream of SMAM of reaching out to the local students.

Experiences:

I have gained the knowledge about the environment of this school specially the laboratories & Botanical garden. This garden gave us beautiful picture of how we must take care of our Nature when we are at home & at our school.

I have gained different skills concerning the structures & facilities found in this school. In computer class I learned how to write the different forms of letters also to create files & Folders. I learned how to play Games, music & movies by using different programs in computer.

The teachers have given me good understanding of the subjects & topics related to my studies which I could not understand well in my school. Now I have learned different methods of studies & how to remember, I am sure which will help me to do good in my form 2 final exams.

I was happy to participate in this holiday tuition classes. Through these classes I have learned many things; also I am happy to see the facilities provided in this school for the students which I don’t find in my school. I taught computer also science subjects by doing practical’s in the laboratories. Thank you teachers we are going back to be the lights in the society.
