On 7th of July 2016, the five visitors from California, USA visited SMA Mission at Kifaru. Rev. Fr. Mathew Vellankal, parish priest of Holy Spirit Parish, Premont, California also the parishioners Mr. Clarence, Mrs. Emmy, Ms. Rose & Ms. Irene. They were on the return journey from the visit to their sister parish Ndungu at Same diocese.
In the afternoon, mission Superior Rev. Fr. Alwyn M. J. DSouza extended warm welcome to the visitors at Immaculate Conception Parish, Kifaru and explained them about the Pastoral mission Kifaru & its substations. After the lunch at Parish house the visitors visited the St. Joseph Boys Science Secondary School, the education mission.
In the evening the Kifaru parish youth organized a short welcoming cultural program for the visitors at school hall. Mrs. Leonardo Laghua, the consulter & teacher at the school welcomed the guests with garlands. Visitors introduced themselves. After Rev. Fr. Victor Machado explained the visitors about the SMA mission and its objectives through PowerPoint presentation and videos. Youth performed the cultural & traditional dances in which visitors too took part. Sisters from Marian Convent were present for the program.
At the end Fr. Mathew Vellankal performed the Magic Show. Around 40 young people gathered for the program. Young people took the responsibility of the program. Youth president Mr. Thobias proposed the vote of thanks & Mr. Willhard Maro compered the program.
