March 12, 2017: SMA Mission celebrated a very meaningful and joyful celebration of Women's Day on 12th of March 2017 at St. Joseph Boys’ Science Secondary School, Kituri, Tanzania premises. About 150 women and some men had gathered.
The programme began with a short procession with school band. Then the ice-breakers brought some fun and familiarity in the group. There were some cultural dances.
Ms. Magdalene from Arusha, Ms. Agatha from Mwanga and Ms. Merlyn from Mwanga spoke about gender equality, women's role and rights in different areas, marital rights and forming women's groups. The talks were enlightening with lot of interactions. They have decided to have similar gatherings in the future and to have awareness building among themselves.
The women expressed that they had an enjoyable day and a meaningful learning. At the end refreshments were arranged for the gathering.
