The youth of Kifaru parish gathered in St Joseph BSSS at 3.00 p.m. on 26th February 2017 to elect the youth leaders for 2017. Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza Youth Director, Fr. Jason Lobo the Assistant parish priest, Mr. Prashanth D’Souza the animator and Mrs. Protasia Tarimu the secretary of Kifaru Parish council and about thirty youth were present for the meeting.

The leaders were elected through secret ballet, the elected leaders are:

Secretary              :     Ms. Dorotea
Joint Secretary     :     Mr. Nikas Orota
Treasurer              :     Ms. Janet Shabas
Choir Secretary    :    Mr. Steven J Mrema
Liturgy Secretary  :    Ms. Joice

Later Fr. Alwyn congratulated the newly elected members and thanked the former leaders. Mrs. Tarimo addressed the youth and said that they need to take this responsibility seriously and should make impact in the parish. Fr. Jason said that youth are a strong part of the parish, so they need to help the church in all the possible ways. Mr. Prashanth said that, all need to support each other in all their activities also to visit the families of those youth who are not joined the youth group. The newly elected president thanked all for electing him as the president of youth and asked their cooperation. The youth secretary thanked one and all.
