Place : St. Joseph Boy’s Science Secondary School Kituri, Mwanga

On 17 June 2017 one day Training Program was held for the young people of Kifaru Parish at St. Joseph Boy’s School campus. With the help of Fr. Alwny M. J. D’souza and Mr. Prashanth D’Souza Youth leaders prepared the day with ice breaking, action songs, games and sessions which were conducted by the Don Bosco brothers from Moshi.

The day started with the registration of all members. Ms. Joyce Venance the liturgy leader helped on this. The youth president Mr. Thobius introduced new youth leaders and welcomed the brothers to join and share with the youth, soon after Br. Valerian Valentine start the program with action songs which join the members and at the same time introduce each other through small groups of people with letter exchange to another group until we know each other.

The first session conducted by Br. Denis Machuka on the topic of “knowing yourself” (who you are, where you are and reason of being there) were youth participate with the questions and answers. The second session conducted by Br. Valerian Valentine who helped us to understand between greed and needs which is a challenge now days to the youth. He also spoke about speak out our problems instead of hiding it so it will be easy to be helped out. The third session by Br. James Massawe generalized the whole topics of the day by giving real examples and how the youth should help others to come together.

With all the session, games and ice breaking, the day was so special and in the evaluation youth got the chance to express their feeling by saying that we need to have more of such program because its brings us together as well as makes us to learn different things of life.

On this day also Bonaventure Maro the parish council chairman joined us to greet the youth and shared word from God, Fr. Hilary Lobo - Parish Priest and Fr. Janson Lobo Asst. Parish Priest also were there to support the youth. Don Bosco Brothers thanked all participants for the chance to share and speak to the Kifaru youth.

The day ended with vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Thobius Andrew the youth president.
