On 30th July 2017, sixty candidates were given the Sacrament of Confirmation at Immaculate Conception of Mary Church, Kifaru by Rev. Fr. Filbert Kasira, the Chancellor of Same diocese. Rev. Fr. Kasira presided over the Eucharist and preached the homily on the importance of Confirmation. Rev Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza the Mission Superior, Fr. Hilary Lobo the Parish Priest, Fr. Victor Machado the Head master, Fr. Jason Lobo Assistant Parish Priest and the guest priests Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza the Dean & Parish Priest of Kundapur, Udupi and Rev. Fr. Sylvester D’Coasta the Parish Priest of Vamadapadav Mangalore, concelebrated the Eucharist.
Before the sacrament of confirmation, Fr. Kasira asked the question to the candidates, later all the priests laid their hands on the candidates and prayed. At the end of the Mass Rev. Fr. Hilary expressed his sentiment of gratitude to all who made this celebration successful. There after all the candidates were given a Bible, Scapular, and Rosary.
The Altar was decorated by Sisters of Marian Convent Kifaru with the leadership of Sr. Mary UFS, the church compound was decorated by the parish council members. After the Eucharist, all stayed back for the felicitation program. Rev. Fr. Hilary welcomed all; Fr Alwyn appreciated the efforts of all for making the program successful and called the candidates to live the true Christian spirit. Fr. Anil expressed his happiness to witness the great event. The parishioners gave a goat to Fr. Kasira, to be gifted to Most. Rev Rogath Kimario S.S.pS. the Bishop of SAME. There after Fr. Kasira congratulated the 60 candidates and the parish priests and parishioners for the well arrangements of the event. Mr. Bonaventure Maro the President of Kifaru Parish verbalized the sentiments of gratitude to all. Ms. Protasia Tarimu, Secretary of the Kifaru Parish proposed vote of Thanks and Mr. Williard Maro anchored the program. At the end snacks and soft drinks were served to the people.
