Three day Faith Formation Camp for the Parish Children started on 24th June, 2019, at 8 a.m. All the children of the Parish of all the substations, from class IV to Form II attended the program. 130 children participated in the program. The camp concluded on June 26th 3.00 p.m.
V. Rev. Fr. Alphonse, the Dean of Kindaroko Deanery, celebrated the inaugural Eucharistic celebration and Fr. Benedict Cherumbe, gave a talk on Eucharist. He spoke on how children could live a Eucharistic life – Prayerful, generous and humble life to give witness to Jesus in their life. In the inaugural address, Fr. Alwin the Mission Director, encouraged the children and asked them to make the best use of the opportunity that they have.
Mrs. Elizabeth, spoke on health and hygiene. Prof. Lima from Moshi, spoke on Laudato Si - how children in their own little way can protect and develop the nature and Glorify God. Fr. George Crasta and Catechist Josephat, gave a session on Altar Servers, and Sr. Elizabeth gave a class on Sodality of Legion of Mary. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues gave a session on Holy Childhood.
The children had group rosary, group discussions, group acting out and presentations. In the groups we also evaluated the children’s knowledge of the daily prayers. We also filled the children survey format by interviewing each child.
In the concluding Eucharist, Fr. Benedict Cherumbe, gave the call to the children to be the light bearers, to shine light of Christ. At the end of the Mass, children were commissioned to go with light of Christ by symbolically giving light to the leaders and animators of each of the Substation.
The children took four decisions in the camp:
1. To pray the Rosary every day.
2. To pray the 5th Decide of the Rosary for the Missionaries.
3. To help others who are in need in their own little way and
4. To love the Nature and contribute to better the nature in their own way.
