Place: St. Joseph Boy’s Science Secondary School Kituri

The feast of St Joseph the patron of St Joseph Boys’ Science Secondary School, Kituri, Mwanga was celebrated in a grand manner on 19th March 2018 at Fatima hall in the school campus. The celebration began at 9.30 am with the Holy Eucharist. Rev Msgr. Willhard, Vicar General of Same Diocese was the main celebrant. Fr. Alwyn D Souza School manager, Fr Victor Machado Headmaster, Fr Hilary Lobo Parish priest, Fr. Jason Lobo Asst. Parish priest, Fr. George Crasta new Hostel warden were the concelebrants.

In the homily, Msgr. Willhard highlighted the qualities of St Joseph and also motivated the students to follow his footsteps. The liturgy and choir was conducted by the students of St
Joseph School along with the Ursuline Franciscan Sisters from Marian Convent, Kifaru.

After mass there was a short formal function in which Rev. Fr. George Crasta new Director of school hostel was officially welcomed by the management, staff and students. Thereafter Fr Hilary Lobo who celebrated his birthday on March 6th and the day’s birthday celebrants Fr Jason Lobo and Sr. Grecilda Cutinha UFS cut the cakes and shared their joy. Fr. Alwyn D Souza introduced the new warden and the birthday celebrants. Fr Victor Machado felicitated the birthday celebrants and also thanked all those who were involved the preparation of the festal program.

The management also felicitated Fr. Willhard Vicar General on this occasion. After the tea break, Mr. Robert teacher and Br. Lanson Pinto conducted games and group activities to the students, staff, management and the guests. A sumptuous festal meal was served for all. Thereafter students presented cultural programs as allotted to each house. Fr. Alwyn D Souza addressed the gathering appreciating the active participation and good preparation of the school feast and he also distributed the prizes to the winners.

Mrs. Leonarda Laghua Deputy HM proposed the vote of thanks. The program was concluded at 5.00 pm with a prayer by Sr. Consolatha Superior of Mrian Convent, Kifaru.
