March 19, 2016 : Society of Mangalore Africa Mission SMAM, SAME, Tanzania along with teaching and non-teaching staff and students of St Joseph Boys’ Science Secondary School celebrated the feast of the patron of the school St Joseph with grandeur and joy. The celebration took place at St. Joseph’s Boys Science Secondary School, KITURI, MWANGA, SAME.

Celebration began with Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr Peter, conventual priest from Mwanga parish. Fr Alwyn Dsouza - Mission Superior, Fr Ronald Pinto - Headmaster, Fr Victor Machado - Hostel Director and Fr Hilary Lobo - Parish Priest were the concelebrants. 

After the Mass, dignitaries were escorted by the Student council members to the hall with school band. A colorful cultural program was presented by the students. Fr Alwyn Dsouza school Manager presided over the program. Fr Peter was the chief guest and other guests of honor -  Mr Leon - chairman of the schoolboard, Fr Victor Machado, Fr Hilary Lobo, Fr Ronald Pinto, Mr Filbert - schoolboard member, Sr Venitha Martis UFS, Sr Grecilda Cutinha, Mr Mark - volunteer from Sweden were present on the dais.  

Program began with a prayer song and welcome speech. Students presented a festal greeting song, street dance, a comedy act and traditional dance. Also, the school community celebrated the birthday of Sr. Grecilda Cutinha – Second Headmistress with cutting of the cake, felicitation with garlands and words of best wishes by Mrs Leonarda Laghua. Fr Peter was felicitated by SMAM community for his help in the initial stage of Mission & the school. Fr Peter and Mr Leon wished well to the school community in their speech.  Fr Alwyn addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of the day and special qualities of St Joseph as inspiration to all. 

Second Head boy Collins Kibona welcomed the gathering and Mr. Moses K, the academic master proposed the vote of thanks. Program was Mastered by Ms. Winrose - Geography teacher with students Raymos and Hans Abel. Program was concluded with the school anthem followed by delicious lunch.
